Description and Essential Functions:

Responsible for maintaining the GMT fleet.

  • Performs minor preventative and corrective maintenance as directed
  • Assists with the maintenance of shop facilities and equipment
  • Cleans and fuels vehicles
  • Check and fill all vehicle fluids
  • Assists mechanics as necessary
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications:  

  • Education and/or Experience: A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Previous work experience or training in the automotive mechanical field preferred. The minimum age for all employees in this position is 21. A CDL and clean driving record are required; a CDL may be obtained after date of hire as long as the employee makes significant progress towards attaining their CDL by receiving a CDL permit within 30 days of the date of hire. Basic mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Physical Requirements: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. The employee is expected to bend, sit, climb and lift heavy objects up to 100 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Wage: $23.50 with a .50 differential for second shift. 
  • Schedule: This is a second-shift position, 3:30 pm to 12:30 am.
  • Time Off: 8.67 hours of paid time off accrued per pay period; equivalent to 5+ weeks off.
  • Health Insurance: 100% paid health care coverage including medical, dental, vision, and prescription. 100% paid premium for Short-Term Disability by GMT. After 10 years of service, 100% paid premium for Long-Term Disability by GMT.
  • Savings: GMT offers 457 Retirement Plans. After one year, employees who contribute of 3% will be matched by GMT at 5%. After 10 years, employees who contribute 5% will be matched by GMT at 7%.
  • Bonuses: Opportunities for $350 annual Safety Bonus and $250 annual Perfect Attendance Bonus.
  • Allowances: Employees will also be reimbursed for two pairs of safety footwear per year.
